1. Introduction

Welcome to Detect Edge, a product of Detect Labs, LLC. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and handle your information when you use our mobile application to collect, label, and upload sensor data.

2. Data We Collect

To provide our services, we collect the following types of data:

• Account Information: Your email address and authentication credentials, managed via our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure.
• Sensor Data: Raw time-series data from connected hardware (e.g., Nordic Thingy:53), including accelerometer, gyroscope, and other environmental sensor readings.
• Metadata: Information about your projects, labels you apply to data, and timestamps of collection.
• Third-Party Keys: Your Edge Impulse API Key, which is used solely to facilitate the direct upload of data to your Edge Impulse projects.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the collected data to:

• Facilitate the labeling and organization of ML datasets.
• Manage your storage quota (e.g., the 10MB).
• Provide the "one-tap" upload functionality to third-party MLOps platforms like Edge Impulse.
• Improve the performance and stability of the Detect Edge app.

4. Data Storage and Third-Party Sharing

• Cloud Infrastructure: We utilize Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for all primary data processing and storage. Your raw sensor data is stored securely in cloud storage buckets, and project metadata is managed within GCP's secure database environment.
• Edge Impulse: When you use the upload feature, your data is transmitted directly to Edge Impulse Inc. via their Ingestion API. Once uploaded, that data is subject to Edge Impulse's privacy policy.
• No Sale of Data: We do not sell your sensor data or personal information to third parties.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We believe you should have full control over your data.

• User-Initiated Deletion: You may delete individual samples or your entire account at any time through the in-app settings.
• The Deletion Process: Deleting your account will result in the permanent removal of your email, metadata, and raw files from our Google Cloud Platform storage and databases.
• Third-Party Data: Deleting data from Detect Edge does not delete data that has already been successfully exported to Edge Impulse. You must manage those datasets within the Edge Impulse dashboard.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy within the app or via email.
